DIY Chocolate Bowls

DIY Chocolate Bowls

Have you seen those posts on Pinterest showing how to make your own chocolate bowls using balloons?  Well, I was super skeptical because balloons have a strong latex smell.  So I took matters into my own hands and whipped up a fun and easy tutorial.  No balloons.

You will need:

– Chocolate chips

– Silicone baking cups (you could probably use paper ones)

– Wax paper

– Cookie sheet

– Microwave safe bowl

– Spoon

Place the silicon baking cup upside-down on the wax paper coated cookie sheet.

Melt the chocolate according to the instructions on the package.  I put mine in the microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring in-between until everything was melty and smooth.

Drizzle the chocolate over the baking cup.  Make sure it’s a good, thick later because you don’t want it to break when you peel the cup out.  Side note, I have no idea why the chocolate looks orange in this picture haha.

Place in the freezer for 20-30 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened.

Then, carefully peel out the silicone cups, and you’re ready to fill them with tasty treats!  We served them with strawberry ice cream, banana, and whipped cream.
