DIY Bow Tutorial

DIY Bow Tutorial

This week we have a guest post by What About A Bow (find them on Facebook).  Joan was kind enough to walk us through an easy DIY Bow tutorial.  Isn’t that just the cutest little bow?  I can’t wait to start putting bows on all my projects 🙂

See the photo below for what you will need.  You can substitute the glue gun for suitable glue.

bow 1

Grab the larger piece of fabric (20cm by 14cm or 8″ by 5.5″)  and fold until you have the width you desire.

bow 2

I usually fold it into quarters so it looks like this.

bow 3

You then fold it in half.  And in half again.

Then, pinch the middle so it forms a bow shape, and sew the middle together.

bow 6

Grab the smaller piece or fabric (5cm by 3cm or 2″ by 1″)

bow 7

And fold it into thirds, so it looks like this.

bow 8

Wrap it around the bow like so, and cut any access material.

bow 9

Glue the ends to the bow.

bow 10

Grab a clip and scratch the back so the glue sticks better.

bow 11

Glue the clip to the back and hold in place for 30 seconds.

Now your bow is ready to wear, ENJOY!

How easy was that?  I can’t wait to put bows on everything!!!  Make sure to check out What About A Bow on Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/What-About-A-Bow) and on Instagram @what_about_a_bow  She does some really incredible and intricate work – absolutely gorgeous!

Happy crafting!  <3 Caitlyn
