Do your dogs watch you craft? Think they wish they could help? Well, we let our two dogs each make their own works of art. And they had a blast doing it!
Wow! I can’t believe my last post was back in March… A lot has happened since then! To be perfectly honest, I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues, and haven’t felt much like crafting. I’ve still been tinkering with this and that, but I just haven’t been in the mood to do as many projects as I was. And I definitely didn’t want to FORCE myself to craft because that goes against my idea of what crafting should be in my life – a happy escape.
I now have a second dog (Eddy is the grey one and Lulu, white and tan, has been with us since August 2015), also a new boyfriend.
Steve (the boyfriend) is a wonderful cross stitcher, so he has gotten me hooked on a new craft! That’s what I’ve been most recently tinkering with. Right now, I’m polishing up some original patterns, so make sure to keep an eye out for those! These are the two I’m working on now.
Well, I’ll keep this update short, with plans to update more frequently going forward. Thanks for sticking with me and taking the time to read this!
Happy crafting! <3 Caitlyn
Have you been saving all your bottle caps, waiting for the perfect craft to come along? Well, wait no further! The frame broke on a cheap mirror I had bought while still in college. What a great opportunity to give my bottle caps new life! Follow these simple steps to make your own bottle cap framed mirror.
I was feeling like making something summer-themed. Nothing screams picnics and summer like pickles. This was my first time experimenting with pickling, and it was so much fun! These easy pickled radishes are sweet and tangy. The lovely pink color they turned is delightful! Now that I know how easy pickling is, I can’t wait to experiment with more vegetables!
We are snowed in today, so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do some organizing around the house! First stop, my gift wrapping supplies. How does everything get so messy? I’ve also been trying to think of what to do with my old pill bottles, so using them to organize my ribbon is the perfect solution to two problems! And so easy!
While my boyfriend was studying to take a huge Physics exam (the Qualifying Exam for Grad School), I decided he needed a bit of study help from some TV Physicists! It was actually a fun way to come up with an easy knit doll pattern. If you change the colors, you could easily alter these dolls to look like a variety of different characters – or better yet, create your own character!
Have you seen those posts on Pinterest showing how to make your own chocolate bowls using balloons? Well, I was super skeptical because balloons have a strong latex smell. So I took matters into my own hands and whipped up a fun and easy tutorial. No balloons.
Go Team! Impress your friends with a veggie & dip bowl that is just as easy as it is pretty. I don’t like having a bunch of single use kitchen tools, so this was perfect because it combines bowls you’re already using. Just place a plastic container upside down in a mixing bowl, and then place a cereal bowl on top. Fill with veggies (or chips, bread, etc) and then put your dip in the smaller bowl. Now it’s time to eat!
Happy partying! <3 Caitlyn
With this lovely snow we’re getting, I thought it was the perfect time to whip up a big batch of kale soup. This soup is the perfect thing to warm you up from the inside! It also has lots of veggies. Look at those colors! And so easy to make! You can let it simmer all afternoon, and then your house will smell amazing.
Are your feet cold? My feet are cold. If you can knit, purl, and bind off, you can make these easy knit slippers. They are knit flat on straight needles. You can make them in a variety of colors and give them as gifts!
